The Journey
My name is Darren Kitchen, and for the last 5 years I've been producing, hosting and editing the tech variety show Hak5. It's my passion. Along the way I've worked with the best group of friends a geek could have. I've watched the show grow from a simple dream into what I know in my heart to be a success. And all the while I've been continually encouraged by fans and future friends to keep going.
Recently the company I've worked for has fallen on hard times, and after 9 years as a Systems Administrator my full time employment has come to an end. I've had to sell my house and most everything within, but that's only the beginning of this story.
The next chapter is one of adventure and challenge as I attempt to hack across America on a Nighthawk 750 motorcycle. My destination is San Francisco where I plan to put my every effort into Hak5. The journey is one I will likely never forget as I ride and record weekly episodes of Hak5 from the road.
I want you to be a part of this story. Over the years I've been delighted to meet many Hak5 fans -- all of which are the most kind and friendly enthusiast one could know. So I'm asking now, if you have technolust and can harbor a hacker for the night, please get in touch. I greatly appreciate a spot on your lawn for a tent, your floor for a sleeping bag or even a cozy couch.
And if you'd like help with a network, your neighbors WiFi password or a couple of beers, I'm your man.
